Summary:
The trip starts at Tonnes. From here you will be picked up in a shuttle boat by Buneset's owner and host Morten and taken to Buneset, our base and your place of residence for the coming days. We eat breakfast, get to know each other and plan Thursday's afternoon trip.
During the days we paddle between the beautiful islands of Hestmona, Kvarøy, Rangsundøy, Selsøya and a number of smaller islets and reefs. The area has a rich history both in terms of fisheries, fish farming and war history. The animal and bird life is exciting, the beaches are chalk white and the view absolutely spectacular.
On Thursday we paddle to one of these beautiful beaches on the neighboring island of Hestmona. We first paddle in from the south to take in the view towards Saturday's destination Hestmannen, but then the beach life beckons and we take a good break on one of the island's many beaches. After a nice trip, Bodil stays up with both dinner and pleasant hospitality before the evening is rounded off.
On Friday we visit Rangsundøya and Selsøyvik in a kayak. Beautiful beaches, formidable views and a whole load of local history collected on one board. After a nice trip, this day also ends with dinner and a nice time back at Buneset.
Saturday is the time to let the legs do the work. The 571m high Hestmannen is not the Himalayas, but a relatively steep mountain hike with an absolutely formidable view. Morten takes us from Buneset to Hestmona on a nice and action-packed RIB trip, you burn the gunpowder in your legs at the same time as we enjoy ourselves immensely with fantastic views for every meter we walk. An absolute highlight!
Sunday is the return day, but we make sure to take one last trip with us after breakfast. Kvarøya and the legendary beach in Svindalen are too beautiful to be left out. After a nice paddling trip in sheltered waters and breakfast/swimming, we paddle back to Buneset for check-out, return of equipment and boat ride back to Tonnes. A long weekend full of nature experiences in a safe and pleasant setting!

Day by day:
Day 1 Buneset – Hestmona
After check-in, we start the planning with lunch at 13 and a light kayak trip at 14:30. We hand out equipment and get into the kayaks. The paddling experience starts with a visit to the beautiful island of Hestmona. Here we find the spectacular mountain Hestmonkallen/Hestmannen known from the legend of the troll mountains in the north. We paddle via Andklakken to the sandy beach in Selsøyvågen. Here we relax for a while, swim a bit and enjoy ourselves on the beach before returning via the Arctic Circle monument on Vikingen. A quick rest and a few photos later, we are back at Buneset. After a shower and a change of clothes, Bodil serves a better dinner before we retire and crawl into bed.

Day 2 Rangsundøya and Selsøyvik
The day starts at the breakfast table at 08.30. Here we eat, plan the day and grease packed lunches/fill thermoses for the morning meal. We paddle north with Rødøyløva as our target, but after crossing the Melfjord we enter a wonderful area consisting of islets, reefs and sandy beaches. We visit both Selsøyvik old trading center, an absolutely beautiful sandy beach on the northern tip of Engøya and the beautiful accommodation Helgelandsidyll before we head home. We take time to enjoy the view from the mounds on Rangsundøya before we paddle back to Buneset and enjoy a better dinner.

Day 3 Rib and hike Hestmannen
Today we get to use our legs! 571 steep meters must be forced. No climbing, but it is a relatively steep hike and will be a bit challenging towards the end for those who suffer from a severe fear of heights. However, it is possible to stop at a lovely viewing platform just a few minutes before the top so that you skip the most challenging part. The reward after the downhills is the view from one of the region's coolest mountains, namely the legendary mountain Hestmannen/Hestmonkallen. The day starts at the breakfast table at 08:30. We plan, eat breakfast, grease packed lunches and fill thermoses. We are taken over to Hestmannen by boat and spend the whole day enjoying ourselves in the mountains. If someone wants to use the kayak during the day, Vegard is happy to run technical training either in rescue techniques, turning technique or rolls in the afternoon. Once back at Buneset, we tuck into another delicious dinner before crawling into bed.
Meals FLM
571m height, approx. 4 hour summit tour.
Day 4 Indre Kvarøy, Svindalen
On Sunday we eat at 8 to make the most of the last day. We pack lunches, fill thermoses and are ready to go in the kayaks approx. at 9 From here we paddle to Indre Kvarøy, enjoy the view towards Hestmannen and eat the morning meal. Some of us will surely go swimming on the legendary beach in Svindalen. The view towards Lovund from the mounds just above the beach is always a highlight. We paddle back to the starting point and end the paddling trip for this time approx. at 2:30 p.m. You change, wash and groom yourself and get ready for the boat trip home. We say goodbye and look forward to seeing each other again at a later Way of the Cross.
