Okstindbreen
Okstindbreen is the 8 largest glacier massif in Norway. It spans 46 square kilometers. The highest point is at 1740 MOH. On the eastern part of the glacier lies Oksskolten (1916 MOH), which is Northern Norway's highest mountain.
We approach the glacier either from the north-eastern part from Kjennsvatnet or the western part of the glacier from Leirskadalen.
The trip up Okstindbreen is often combined with a summit trip up to Oksskolten if there is interest.

The black ice
The black ice is Norway's second largest glacier massif and stretches over 370 square kilometers. In the 1770s, Svartisen was a continuous glacier, but today it is divided into the east and west glaciers. It stretches through the municipalities of Rana, Meløy and Rødøy. The Svartisen is Europe's lowest-lying glacier and lies 20-30 MOH. This makes it attractive to tourists.
Rana Spesialsport offers guided tours to Austerdalsisen, which you reach by driving into Røvassdalen to the black ice water, where you are transported by boat to the entrance.
Austerdalsisen is seen as a beautiful, fragile and raw landscape that is worth visiting.
